Trees donated by the Woodland Trust are to be planted by the Lancing Parish Council at some of their sites and members of FoLR are invited to go along and join in with a spade and their expertise at tree planting!
Meet at Monks Rec at 10am on 30th Nov (weather permitting).
With regret, the Task Day for Sunday 16th June has had to be cancelled.
The next Task day will be on Sunday 21st July
We look forward to seeing our regulars and any new volunteers will be welcome to join us.
At the AGM the committee was re-elected and consist of Henry (Chair), Veronica (Vice Chair), Adrienne (Secretary), Sue (membership secretary) and Keith. Henry is still doubling as Treasurer.
Adrienne would like to let people know that they should be getting their summer newsletter in the next few days and to let me know if it doesn’t arrive either by email or post? (That way she can be sure that her list is working ok!)
If you use the area for walking, exercise, fun or whatever we are your chance to have a voice in what goes on in the Reserve and we provide a link between the people who use it and the Council. Please consider joining the Friends of Lancing Ring. Membership details.
Adrienne shared these images of her walk around the reserve recently
Also thought we ought to put an update after the AGM. At the recent AGM, the Committee were re-elected with the addition of Chris Ball, who we are delighted to say has re-joined us now that her health has improved again. The current Committee are:
Henry Heath (Chairman and Treasurer)
Veronica Eltringham (Vice Chair)
Adrienne Stevenson (Secretary)
Sue Crowhurst (Membership Secretary)
Most of the Committee were re-elected, although, unfortunately Chris Ball has had to stand down for health reasons. We would like to thank Chris so much for her contributions on the Committee and we will miss her and hope she might think of coming back when her health recovers. So the current line-up is: Henry Heath as Chairman, Veronica Eltringham is Vice Chair, Sue Crowhurst is Membership Secretary, Adrienne Stevenson is Secretary and also Keith Dollemore. We currently have no Treasurer, so Henry is doubling as Treasurer. However, if anyone else would like to join the Committee or would like to offer themselves as Treasurer, we would be delighted to hear from them.
Sue Crowhurst has moved and changed her phone number. The new details are:
31 Sedbury Road, Sompting. Tel 01903 368978
What a wonderful morning this was. Just thought I would update everyone on the tree planting. Henry had a commemorative book which most people signed and we had about 100 people helping to plant the trees. Thank you to everyone who came along and took part. We would also like to say a big thank you to Graham and John from Adur District Council for all their help with organising the logistics before the day and their help at the tree planting. We are very grateful to everyone. Don’t forget to join the Friends and support us in our future activities if you can.
